Irish history is basically like the history of any other nation, that is, all full of wars, power tripping and power grabbing. They were severely opposed to being only a part of Great Britain since it was during their reign that the Irish suffered so much, even to the point of migrating to be able to find better opportunities for their future. They also valued their independence so much that were also opposed to Northern Ireland being a part of them.

Christianity was also introduced to them by the Celts and Saint Patrick. The Celts have a liberal view of Christianity, which was based more on their beliefs and mythology. When people became discouraged about these contradicting beliefs, they were conversion into Protestants began to rise in Northern Ireland.

Legends and myths also played a great role in forming Irish history, especially during the reign of the Celts. They are a people who had a very rich culture and would impart it freely on those who wanted it. Celts were known for their free spirit and preoccupation to join or even start wars between neighboring countries and places, being complacent with the capability of their weaponry.

When Ireland was finally made a Republic, their joy was still not complete, for most of the Irish, since it also precipitated the separation of Northern Ireland from them, it being still under the British rule. A lot of rebellions and bloody revolts occurred during this time of their history, between those who would like them to remain the same and those who still would like them to be one again, by hook or by crook. For some, it was hard to let go of part of their heritage to some other country. And to others, it was a display of their independence.

At present, most of these rebellions have been resolved peacefully, with them surrendering their firearms and weapons. Northern Ireland has been given a chance to prove themselves worthy of independence, without threats of civil war between Protestants and Christians in their nation. The Republic of Ireland has prospered economically and politically, although also with a lot of changes and sacrifices to some ancient beliefs and traditions that is part of Irish history.
