Nowadays, it is quite costly to travel to a foreign country for a short business trip or vacation. The cost of accommodations is usually eating up your pocket money. This is why some people tend to rent homes instead for the holiday, to be able to get the feel of the place they are visiting aside from the fact that they can actually save money. Ireland is one of those countries who practice renting out their homes just for the holiday.

Ireland is a beautiful place to go to, sometimes likened to paradise with its numerous plants and foliage to medieval castles and treasures. Holidays are celebrated here with much gusto that tourists tend to flock to Ireland during those times and to make the necessary accommodations is quite hard. Some Irish home owners are open to the option of renting their homes out during these holidays, giving the tourist the freedom to choose what house they want according to their needs. Of course, there will also be restrictions by the home owner regarding who and how long will their homes be leased.

There are so many types of holiday homes in Ireland to choose from, from the quaint cottage in the outskirts of a village, a four bedroom villa that can fit eight people, a lodge, to a large casa with a swimming pool attached. These holiday homes in Ireland range in prices, usually flexible enough to fit their customer's needs. Rates start from as low as a few hundred pounds for a week to as much as five thousand pounds or more, depending on the amenities.

These holiday homes are fully furnished, with running water, electricity, gas and heat. They provide the linens and towels. Major appliances like a television set, microwave, and stove are also available. Sometimes, there is also the option for maid service. There are also other forms of recreation like a swimming pool, gym area, a garden, golf etc. These holiday homes in Ireland are usually not easily accessed by public transportation so the privacy of the home users is kept safe.

Why the sudden popularity of these types of accommodations, especially in Ireland? A theory is formulated wherein high rise accommodations, especially in the country side would destroy the ambiance and the environment that Ireland is most famous for. In an attempt to preserve the history as well as the tranquil quality of the surroundings in Ireland, holiday homes were established, probably by the government and the homeowners.

There is not much difference between staying in a hotel and living temporarily in a holiday home in Ireland. If fact, it is much more relaxing to stay in these types of homes for the holidays, free from the noise and fast pace of city life. Basically, one goes on vacation to relax, have a good time, and be able to recharge and recover one's health. Staying in a home in Ireland during the holidays is the best option available. Of course, if you really prefer the isolation, the only problem you have to contend with is fixing your own meals and cleaning up after yourself. But the rewards you get afterwards are worth more.
