The custom in Irish society goes back to the ancient times, known as
the Brehon Laws that says, share hospitality with a stranger of a bard who
knocks on your door. If they did not, they could even be punished or
shamed. Thus, the Irish hospitality is really unsurpassed.
Irish history is basically like the history of any other nation, that is,
all full of wars, power tripping and power grabbing. They were severely
opposed to being only a part of Great Britain since it was during their
reign that the Irish suffered so much, even to the point of migrating to be
able to find better opportunities for their future. They also valued their
independence so much that were also opposed to Northern Ireland being a
part of them.
