in Ireland. Being a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Causeway contains an
assortment of firmly packed basalt columns, scattered from the Antrim
Plateau towards the sea. Legend has it that the remarkable lunar landscape
found in the Causeway was thought to be formed by the giant, Finn MacCool.
It was said that MacCool made the Causeway his pathway to a rival giant
living in Scotland.
Travel in Ireland is not complete if you don't get to see the Shannon
River. This river is the longest one found in the British Islands, and is
considered to be one of the finest rivers found in Europe. For those who
enjoy seeing nature at its untouched beauty, this river will satisfy their
expectations, it being a paradise of sort for those who love nature and who
thrive in having a quiet and tranquil life.
To explore these places in Ireland, you have the option of taking a tour
which lasts for either two days or five, depending on which sight you want
to see. Some like to travel in Ireland by car so they can go around at
their own leisure. In Ireland, it is actually cheaper to travel by car
since the petrol sold here is cheaper that their neighbor countries. You
may want to use the ferry to Ireland, from the UK, a ninety nine minute
travel with the option of bringing everyone and everything with you, even
the dog.
With car travel, you can start by seeing the Ring of Kerry or Beara Peninsula first. This place is accessible only by car, or if you are strong enough, by bicycle and by hiking. In this place, you can view the Atlantic over the Bantry Bay, with the Caha and Slieve Mishkish mountains at the side. Here you will find their main town, Castletownbere with exhibits several works by Irish artists and treasures from local history.
