Is there any exciting way to see Ireland in an open road? Now, why should you choose a road trip? Wouldn't it be comfortable to take a coach- tour?

You take the open road trip because you do not want to be with the crowd. You enjoy seclusion because you prefer to see the places on your own pace, in your own style. You want to enjoy the company of locals. You want to taste the Irish countryside with style. Hence, you take the self-drive holiday.

Travelling by car has great benefits. You can find a remote pub in the country, or amazing cliffs, or deserted beaches, or you just enjoy the winding roads of countryside. You can always go into wooded glens or take the hills - all at your will. In any countries, the petrol in the Republic is way cheaper. You do not have to spend money for bus fares, cabs, or train fares. A self drive trip allows you to bring everything you want, golf clubs, the granny, the kids, barbeque. whatever your heart pleases.

You can check every B and B, compare each of them, the next thing you know, you would be blogging due to their prices, their pro's and con's, and any activities you did. If you are a photographer, you can capture the best shot a view has to offer, without someone telling to you to mind the group. You can also mingle with the locals as long as you want.

Irish Road Trip Tips

If you are not used to left hand driving, this is a new experience for you, so be extra careful as roads wind and narrows in the countryside. Most of the time, there are sheep that dotted an area. You will also need a roadmap, a detailed road map. You do not want to get lost (but getting lost in Irish counties is exciting). Bring an umbrella. Ireland is known for its punishing rains. Lastly, a guidebook for Irish family homes, B and B, or restaurants with accommodation where you can stay. You have to take extra cash for shopping.

Plan your travel on dates when there are few tourists in Ireland. Availability of a certain spot depends on the weather, though. But travelling in off peak season is economical.
