Over the years, Ireland has somehow gained a reputation among travelers to be "The Rip-Off Republic." This means that if you want to spend on something when on your travel to Ireland, you have to be prepared to spend big. But then again, traveling to any country overseas can be expensive, in one way or another. With proper planning, however, you can generate savings on your trip and still enjoy your Irish experience.

One way of saving on your trip to Ireland is booking your flight early. Of course there are some great deals to be had when doing a last-minute booking, but if you reserve your flight early, you will be able to avoid sudden price increases and you will have more leeway in preparing your budget for the other aspects of your trip.

When planning your travel to Ireland, focus on what you will need and what you intend to do once you reach the Emerald Isle. Will you be outdoors most of the time, or will your travel be centered on the indoor attractions of Ireland? Make a list of what you want to see and do in Ireland and this list will help you determine what you will need.

Another way you can save on your trip is to browse the Internet for some great deals. There are many Ireland travel websites that offer promotions and discounts on tours, accommodations and other specials for tourists. Maybe you could find one to score.

Once you get to Ireland, limit your use of your ready cash as much as possible to small purchases. For the more expensive purchases, use your credit card and insist that you be billed in Euro in order to get better exchange rates. Be prepared to pay surcharges in some stores when you use your credit card, though. If you did find that you need to use your cash and you need to get more, go to the nearest hole in the wall - that is, the Irish term for an automated teller machine - and withdraw some cash.

If you get tired of Ireland, France and Paris is not very far away :-) We recommend these two websites for information about Paris: Paris Hotel : Disneyland Paris shuttle

Visit Ireland
written by Dorene Toana, January 16, 2010
Hello, I'm hoping to visit Ireland in the near future, but I might be going by myself. Me being a female and all, I'm a little nervous. If you have any suggestions, please give me some. Also, is it possible to have a good time visiting Ireland by one's self? I'm a people person and would prefer to have someone go with me, but can't find anyone and I don't want that to stop me cause its always been my dream to go there.
Thanks, dorene toana
